Introduction

Metis Steel owns control over a considerably big reserve of dolomite mineral in Arunachal Pradesh. They employ new and advanced forms of sophisticated technology that focuses on safe mining operations without causing much damage to the sustainable environment. This group, in an endless endeavor to discover new forms of material and technology, have used dolomite in several urban and industrial units

Geology & Mineralization

  • Arunachal Himalaya is a part of the eastern Himalaya which covers an area of about 0.255 Million square kilometers.
  • Dolomite deposit of the area belongs to the West Kameng district of Arunachal Himalaya.
  • Geomorphologically, the West Kameng district may be classified as Denudo structural hills, Structural hills and valley fills. Denudo structural hills are characterized by high hills with steep slopes and mainly comprised of metamorphic and igneous intrusions.
  • Dolomite deposit of the area belongs to Buxa formation of the Tenga Group of Precambrian age. The Buxa formation is composed essentially of quartzite-carbonate and evidenced multiple deformation phases.
  • The area of interest is characterized mainly by meta-sedimentary rocks comprising quartzite, dolomite with intervening calcite veins and phyllite. At places, sericite and phyllitic slate were also encountered.
  • Dolomite occurs along the steep and moderate hill slopes. The rock is fine to medium grained, hard and compact. Dolomite in the undisturbed area is massive and uniformly bedded whereas it is fragmental in the disturbed areas.

Exploration

  • We are specialists in cost effective exploration project management, which include both comprehensive and phased exploration strategies.
  • Geological Mapping & Geophysical Survey are fundamental tools of exploration to understand the character, relations, distribution and origin or mode of formation of rock masses and mineral deposits. Metis's experienced geologists and project managers are efficient to record accurate data/information in identifying all the geological/geophysical aspects and carried out extensive geological and structural mapping over the entire area of interest. Metis's proficient GIS team has substantial experience in geo spatial data processing, analysis and interpretation which is supplemented by geo spatial database management .
  • Pitting and trenching has been carried out over the entire area of interest. Multiple samples have been generated during the process, which have been analyzed from reputed accredited Labs.
  • Metis is carrying out a full-fledged drilling operation (as per best industry standard) currently, to assess the mineral resource and quality.
  • Metis's inhouse highly competent resource modelling and mine planning team applies latest geospatial techniques, geo-statistics and software to carry out mineral resource estimate and mine planning
